Q. What is IGNITE!?
A. Inaugural Graphic Novel IniTiativE - we are searching for 10 talented comic creators or teams to be published in two different, 144 page anthologies.
Q. Do I have to pay to enter IGNITE!?
A. NO. Only the Anthologies Seminar costs $10, where attendance is NOT compulsory.
Q. Can anyone submit to IGNITE!?
A. Anyone who was above the age of 17 on January 1st 2009, and is a Singapore Citizen, PR, or holds a Singapore Student Pass, Work Permit or Employment Pass.
Q. Can any Creator submit a concept to IGNITE!?
A. You must be a Writer, Writer/Penciler or Penciler to be a Creator and submit a concept. If you are an Assistant - Scriptwriter, Inker, Letterer, Colourist/Tonist or Page Make-Up Artist, you cannot submit a concept.
Q. Can a Creator also be an Assistant for IGNITE!?
A. Yes, if the applicant is efficient and fast enough. If a Creator’s concept is unsuccessful but displayed qualities in other areas, that applicant could be offered the opportunity to be an Assistant on another concept.
Q. Is there a limit to the number of tasks an Assistant can execute for IGNITE!?
A. No, if the applicant is efficient and fast enough.
Q. Can a Creator or Assistant work on more than one concept for IGNITE!?
A. No.
Q. When can I send my concept & samples submission to IGNITE!?
A. From May 2nd 2009.
Q. When can I send my Assistant samples submission to IGNITE!?
A. From March 31st 2009.
Q. How do I submit to IGNITE!?
A. Via the Online Submissions Facility.
Q. Do I keep the rights to my concept if I submit to IGNITE!?
A. Yes. Apart from publishing the finished story, certain privileges must be awarded to ACAS and MDA. These are outlined in the Contract which every successful applicant has to sign.
Q. How many pages does each story have to be for IGNITE!?
A. 24, inclusive of one colour title page image.
Q. If chosen, will I get paid by IGNITE!?

Q. How long will I have to complete my concept submission for IGNITE!?
A. From May 2nd - June 30th 2009.
Q. How long after June 30th will I have to complete the 24 pages for IGNITE!?
A. Until September 21st 2009.
Q. When will the anthologies be launched from IGNITE!?
A. On 24th October 2009 at the Singapore Writers Festival.
Q. Where will my story appear with IGNITE!?
A. In many major bookstores locally, regionally and internationally.
